Knee High P.I.s

In 1892, a diminutive but determined 21-year-old named Brother Hesekiah established a team that would become the stuff of legend. As a Harvard Law student, he somehow balanced his academic pursuits with the creation and play in the Montreal Knee High P.I.s—a league that would soon capture the imagination of hockey fans everywhere. Brother Hesekiah, a passionate hockey enthusiast who stood at just 4'6" and weighed a mere 74 lbs, earned the nickname "Knee High" for obvious reasons. Despite his size, he dominated the ice, leading the league in scoring for six consecutive years with a remarkable tally of 239 goals, 747 assists, and an astonishing 2,581 penalty minutes in a 22-game season. His on-ice prowess was matched only by his commitment to the league, which featured teams such as the Louisiana Butch Monkeys, Nova Scotia Bank Robbers, San Diego Farters, and New York Back Hairs.

In 1932, however, Brother Hesekiah's promising trajectory took a dark turn. He and Omar Suarez’s father were implicated in a major cocaine importation bust, leading to his arrest. The team was subsequently sold to his younger brother, Pipsqueek Hesekiah, who shifted the focus from playing to managing the team. Under Pipsqueek’s stewardship, the Montreal Knee High P.I.s won an unprecedented 26 consecutive Stanley Cups, a feat that solidified the team's legendary status. Pipsqueek's life came to an end in 1963 while taking a shit. Brother Hesekiah passed away in 1947 while incarcerated, just weeks shy of his 76th birthday.

The team's legacy was further carried forward by the Bronfman family, who continued to uphold the winning tradition. In a dramatic twist, the team was eventually sold to Mr. Ernesto Rivas, a man described in superlative terms as the most dynamic, handsome, intellectual, dedicated, inspiring, courageous, and sophisticated individual one could imagine. Rivas’ leadership philosophy, encapsulated in his quote,

“Leaders do not command excellence, they build excellence. Excellence is being all you can be within the bounds of doing what is right for your organization. To reach excellence, you must first be a leader of character,” resonated deeply with many. His magnetic appeal and visionary approach even made headlines with Gary Bettman, NHL Chairman, reportedly considering a drastic career shift just to be a part of Rivas’ team.

Under Rivas’ stewardship, the team’s value skyrocketed from $325 million to an astonishing $462 billion within just one day of his acquisition. The Montreal Knee High P.I.s have not only maintained their storied legacy but have reached unprecedented heights of success and influence under Rivas' dynamic leadership. As the team continues to captivate the hockey world, its storied past and promising future remain intertwined in a saga of triumph, transformation, and unparalleled excellence.
